I assumed I was just pushing the system too far with a 24p time line and HD footage. In that case, you can ignore the warning. Like you stated, the fix did not stick upon program restart, but since it only took a minute to fix each time I opened the project, I didn't worry about it. You can get the media offline status for many reasons that mean I cannot reach this media file (such as: the file is on a removable device that is removed, or the file was renamed) but in my experience, DaVinci Resolve will also give this status for slow devices. I just quickly clicked and disabled all offline stuff and then re-enabled it.
